Bridge, FreeMove Establish Alliance-to-Alliance Cooperation

On March 27, two mobile alliances Bridge and FreeMove announced that they have signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) to create alliance-to-alliance cooperation. Under the tie-up, the two alliances plan to deliver better value-added services to customers roaming on 38 alliance members' networks across Asia and Europe, with an expected base of approximately 400 million subscribers. Bridge mobile alliance is currently made up of ten Asian telecom operators including India-based Bharti Airtel, Hong Kong-based CSL, Philippine-based Globe Telecom, Malaysia-based Maxis, Australia-based Singtel Optus, Singapore-based Singtel, Taiwan Mobile, Indonesia-based Telkomsel, Macau-based CTM, and SK Telecom; FreeMove was formed between Orange, TeliaSonera, TIM (Telecom Italia Group), and T-Mobile in 2003.
